If you're looking for a stunning view of Pikes Peak for your photos, but want something a bit less crowded, Palmer Park is a fantastic choice!
This location has SO many benefits. My favorite spot here CAN be quite popular for photo sessions, but it's nothing compared to the crowds at a place like Garden of the Gods (High Point Overlook in particular). Palmer Park also offers a wide variety of different settings for your photos as you'll see in some of the photos below! Anything from those classic peak vistas, to rustic wood fences, fields of grass and flowers, rugged rocks, and pine forests. Oh, and don't forget those stunning golden sunsets!
The white rocks here are also a wonderful reflector! For non-photographers, basically it means the rocks will bounce light onto your skin and make it look amazing! The fact that the rocks here are white/light colored means NO color-casting! At a place like Garden of the Gods, it can be challenging to produce accurate skin tones because the orange tones of the rocks reflect onto your skin. Not impossible to correct, but at Palmer Park, not a problem! Beautiful skin tones every time! (Just skip the spray tan. ;) ) Another perk of Palmer Park is its location! Central to Colorado Springs, it isn't too far of a drive from pretty much... anywhere!
Next time you're considering a location for your session and you'd like... Pikes Peak views... variety... to be away from the crowds... and crisp, clean final edits? Choose Palmer Park! You won't be disappointed!
