Meghan decided to do her senior photo session in Colorado Springs at Garden of the Gods - she wanted her photos to be different and stand out from her friends in Denver!
I was even more honored when her mom told me that she let Meghan make the decision of who her senior photographer would be - and that after looking through many different options, she chose me. I do not take that lightly. I strive to give every client the very best, and hearing Meghan's mom say during her session that I took on the stress so she didn't have to - all the more meaningful given the trouble the tempestuous forecast gave us leading up to our session! Rain, rain, rain... the forecast looked clear, then it didn't, and then... it was! In the end, the rain cleared out JUST in time after one of the wettest September days I can ever remember! And the results were absolutely glorious. Quick tip: the sunniest days are not always the best conditions for photography! Clouds often bring more color to a session, especially as the sun sets.
Meghan brought out the most color in her session though - her vibrant spirit along with her lovely outfit choices had her standing out in the surrounding natural beauty. During Meghan's session we climbed through, on, and around rocks and did our best to avoid the thick, slippery mud remaining from the day's storms. Meghan showed off her incredible cheer talent and strength doing poses on rocky ledges. She posed with an umbrella on the road surrounded by towering red rocks, and perched in the "window" at Siamese Twins with Pikes Peak looming behind under a new blanket of fresh snow. I so enjoyed getting to know Meghan, hear her laugh and observing her confidence and joy. She is talented and driven, and should have no problem achieving her goal of one day becoming a pilot.
Meghan, thank you so, so much for trusting me to be your photographer for this once-in-a-lifetime moment. I'm truly honored, and it was a joy getting to know you and your parents. I hope you have an amazing senior year, and I can't wait to hear how your plans for your future unfold! You're going to rock it!
