Henry arrived just a little early, the tiniest of all of Amy's babies, and was soooo loved on by his parents and siblings during his lifestyle newborn photo session in Falcon, Colorado!
Weighing in around 5 lbs and change at birth, at nearly two weeks old Henry was finally approaching 7 lbs! This sweet little nugget is absolutely adored by his siblings, especially his oldest sister. He rounds out his family perfectly, the second boy with one older brother and two older sisters. He's so used to the chaos of living with three other kids that he had no problem relaxing into his session! Swaddling this adorable little guy was no challenge at all - freshly fed and changed, he did not want to go to sleep, but eventually relaxed his body especially as the warmth of the soft blue swaddling blanket enveloped him. His mama, Amy, said normally this is a time he is more awake, so we were super grateful when he drifted off to sleep and stayed that way for the entire nearly two hours of our time together! He woke up just on time to photograph his adorable baby toes and be freshly fed and changed once more - ahhh the life of a wee babe. :)
Photographing Henry with his siblings felt extra special. Being the fourth child, it's not uncommon for these fun milestone celebrations to fall by the wayside - not that parents do this intentionally, but when you're new parents, with (usually) only one child to focus on, doing these photo sessions, and baby books, and all of the other Cute Things is so much easier than when you're adding another child to a busy household. It was so fun to have Henry's parents snuggle their tiniest son while the other three played, giggled, and tickled around them, or snuggled in to adore their new little brother. Because kids will be kids and big sensitive emotions arise (understandably!) we went with the flow - prioritizing all family photos first, but capturing different combinations depending on the mood and presence of his older, but still very young, siblings.
Lastly Henry enjoyed some time just with his parents - both together and one-on-one. What a special treat to not have to share mom and dad for a little while! :) These kids are so blessed to have parents who will take the time to treasure each of them for the unique little person they are and the one-of-a-kind member of the family they are. Amy and her husband Jordan have such a beautiful relationship, clearly built on a foundation of friendship that has created such a strong and loving family together. They giggled their way through my ideas and directions, bringing life to their poses and creating authentic moments they will treasure always.
After meeting this sweet family during their maternity session a few weeks ago, in the beautiful snowy winter woods, it was such a delight to finally meet Henry and welcome him into his loving family just in time for Spring. Amy & Jordan, thank you for trusting me to capture these precious memories of your growing family and your beautiful relationships with one another. I'm so excited to watch your family grow over the years!
