As a photographer I've spent a lot of time getting to know the Colorado Springs area, but have dreamed for years of exploring the mountain areas more for client sessions.
Cripple Creek is a beautiful, historic destination not too far from Colorado Springs, and our family loves to visit the town annually in the fall, as the aspens here can be absolutely glorious! The idea struck me to host mini sessions here a few years ago, and with permission from the city I finally made plans to do fall minis at the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery - which sounds so strange, and yet there are places on the grounds well away from the graves with absolutely stunning trees and views, so respecting the grounds was easy. I was pleasantly surprised when these booked up completely very quickly! Alas due to illness and injury two spots cancelled last minute, but I had an absolute blast with the four families that attended and we captured some incredibly beautiful memories!
Ella trusted me with her senior photos only a couple of months prior to these mini sessions, and so loved her photos that she booked these minis with me and brought along her sweet boyfriend Dillon so they could get some photos together! These two were SO much fun to photograph together. Ella has a natural laughter full of joy that just radiates from her entire being. And Dillon knows just how to bring out this overflowing joy! Ella & Dillon made it easy to create whimsical, playful, sweet memories they will always treasure.
The Hageman family are sweet return clients I had the privilege of meeting last fall during holiday mini sessions. I could never forget their darling children including their feisty twin boys! These three kids created the most adorable memories for their family last year, and their parents were also incredibly photogenic and fun to work with! This family radiates such love and delight in one another and it was such a treat to capture their memories again this year.
The Berggren family were new clients this year and I so enjoyed getting to know them! Sandi brought her whole family up to the mountains even though most of her children are grown and some starting families of their own! Her little grandson was so incredibly adorable and clearly the apple of his family's eye! We also managed to sneak in senior photos for Sandi's youngest son. I had a blast laughing with Sandi's family as we documented the various relationships among everyone.
Last for the evening I had the great pleasure of documenting my sweet friend Meagan's family! Meagan and I met through MOPS (now called MomCo) and have enjoyed getting to know each other as our kids have become friends as well. Meagan's little boy is almost always wearing a superhero costume, but Meagan managed to get her family dolled up in the most perfect way for these stunning fall photos! And when baby Walt was just not having it, she did the exact right thing and went with the flow of the kids and we still managed to get everything done that she hoped for in photos she absolutely loves!
